WHAT
All the Broken Flowers is the debut feature film written and directed by Andy Krysiak. The story follows a young writer who must confront deep-rooted insecurities about love, creativity, and maturity upon reuniting with his former best friend.

HOW
As a micro-budget, character-driven chamber drama, All the Broken Flowers presents a unique challenge of bringing cinematic life to scenarios which would otherwise seem fairly mundane. In alignment with movements like Dogme 95 and the contemporary Folk Filmmaking scene, we are opting for a decidedly stripped-back approach to the film’s visual presentation, which will favor mostly natural light, long takes, and slow, calculated movements. By focusing primarily on the characters and the subtle conflicts which arise among them over polished technical considerations, this DIY approach will allow for more naturalism in the actors’ performances and will lay bare all their little mistakes and awkwardly long pauses.
WHY
The film explores the feeling of being lost, confused and horny in your 20s, reflecting on the struggle to learn from delicate past lives to make for better futures. In a disorienting world where young people yearn for security and connection, ATBF affirms the hidden beauty of learning to let go. Through a distinctly DIY, micro-budget lens, we strive to tell a powerful story many starving young artists will relate to, all while inspiring fellow creatives to pursue their own provocative, personal stories in spite of whatever temporal, monetary, or technical limitations they face.
